Pony Wall ... No Not the Animal!

Daddy 💕 originally wanted to keep the cushion covered wall that came with the bus but I didn't like it at all ... a.) it's BROWN and b.) it's gross ... so while He was gone on a well, I took it out 😳 That was the first and last time I did that ... He was quite upset. So I had to come up with a way to replace the wall, hold the hand rail and be structurally sound ... voilà!

Now, to figure out how to make it structurally sounds .... yep still thinking on that! The pony wall didn't take a lot of time to build so I covered the tire wheel with plastic and got ya'll a better shot of the vanity space!

It's coming along ...

Toilet Room ... More Decisions!!

We finally got the toilet in that I wanted specifically for Freedom! I researched and searched and decided on the:

Dometic High Profile 310 RV Toilet White Porcelain

The Amazon reviews showed 4.6 out of 5 🌟s! That's pretty good for RV toilets! I am HUGE on star reviews and takes them into account for everything I buy online!

on October 29, 2017
Fixed a crappy problem in my 5th wheel. Very easy install, about 30 minutes to remove the old and install the new, looks great and is comfy to sit on. I did need to relocate the water inlet from my rig to align with the fitting on the toilet, but really wasn't a big deal, took five minutes at most.

The greatest thing about this toilet is that it's porcelain and flushes around the rim like a residential toilet! It cost $131 with shipping from rvpartscountry.com. Great place to work with!! The only issues are the foot petal is plastic, as well as many of the internal parts ... one review made some suggestions in extending the life of the lever, which we'll be doing once installed!

Now, to decide which direction it'll fit in the toilet room LOL There will be a wall between the toilet room and the vanity ... just not there yet!

A Place to Lay Your Head ...

On to making the bed ... we needed it to use a regular mattress and be queen size. It also had to be a sound structure cause Daddy 💕 is always worried about his weight being on it ... then add me and two dogs ... we needed to guarantee that we didn't fall through! 😱

Remember that wooden thing from the other day? This is where it comes into play! We're using it to create storage space. There are matching "bracers" on both sides ... the box is centered on the bed space.

Slow progress but I have to be meticulous to insure that the bed comes out perfect! As you can see, the sun was beginning to not cooperate anymore 😮

This is where we've decided to place the potable water tank ... it can be accessed from the garage area in the back. We'll be creating a cut-out on the outside that has a city water and gravity inlet.

Hey! It's a box! LOL I was serious about the stability!

It took two days to finish out the bed but I got it done! I salvaged some of the metal bracers from our old RV to place over the top of the potable water tank ... the fan is because we're in Texas and it's already in the uppers 80s!

Until next time!

The Wheels on the Bus ... Box #2

We decided to use a part of the tire wheel for our shower on the driver side, so this box is a bit bigger than the one that covers the passenger side. I wanted a seat for those times I want to s-h-a-v-e .... duh! LOL

Didn't take a lot of pictures but it really isn't that in-depth. We used 2x2s and 2x4s for the shower. The actual shower part is made with the 2x4s.

As you can see, the vanity sits on top of the passenger box. That tank is our potable water tank, and the wooden thing ... it goes under the bed and you'll get to see it in action soon!

We didn't do a lot of work, these boxes kicked my back side LOL

The Fun Stuff! Passenger Wheel Well

Hello everyone!

We finally got the plywood down on the floor and getting the box for the vanity sink done! Uber excited that we are making progress!

We built this box out of 2x2s, 1/2" plywood and standard pink insulation. It's strong enough to hold the lightweight mdf already built vanity that we purchased from Home Depot. It was on clearance for $65! It's a perfect color of gray to match the color scheme and the sink is small so that I'm not tempted to over fill it LOL

I will say that you should NOT use 2x2 for anything other than the flooring. It is just too fragile and cracks A LOT 😒 If I had it to do over, I'd use 2x4s for everything ...

This is the standard pink panther insulation. It worked better than the foam boards and will hopefully provide a bit more insulation.

The beautiful vanity we purchased with my gorgeous granddaughter, Renezemee photo bombing!

Thanks for following along! Happy RV'ing!

The In-Between #5

It's time for another square in Freedoms special blanket! This is #5 of the Moogly CAL 2017. I loved this one! It feels small but it says 12" ... cross your fingers it blocks well!

Happy Hooking!!

Facepalm ... More PINK Stuff and Screens

Heya RV'ers! If you want to insulated your floor or walls, DO NOT use the pink board LOL No really, it wasn't that bad once I started pre-measuring and Daddy 💕 used the saw-saw. Took two days and guess what? It's DONE! Yay!!

Yes, yes ... Io'lana photo bombed!

Was trying to figure out how to cover the windows while they were open, I LOVE fresh air 😛 So I bought a screen kit and BAM! We have screens. It uses the existing ledge on the windows and the pull tab allows us to remove it easily. Then you lower the window and replace it by popping it back into place.

 Happy RV'ing!

Pony Wall Update, First Coat of Paint

We eventually moved Freedom into the barn, to just make sure she didn't get rained on. This got me out of the sun and more able to work....
